about

These are the 24 bit digital files of the double 12" vinyl compilation "Cryonics 1989-1992" that was compiled, designed and released 2019 by Mark van de Maat of Dutch label Knekelhuis.

The album contains five tracks off the first three Dark Star cassette releases and four tracks off the "Headtrip" CD.

All tracks were remastered by Wouter Brandenburg at Brandenburg Mastering.

Actual vinyl copies are still available from Knekelhuis on Bandcamp.

PS: In case you are wondering - the track order of this digital release reflects the track order that was originally planned for the vinyl release before something went wrong...
No big difference, just that tracks 2 and 3 are reversed.

And heartfelt thanks to:
Rodolfo Protti, Laurent Boyer, Oliver Klemm, Carsten Olbrich, Harald S. Ziegler, Matthias Lang, Mick Magic, Lord Litter, 1001 TiLt for support in the beginnings of this long journey.
All of them pioneers of the cassette music underground, and as independent as they come.
Also to Edward & Phil, as always, for ongoing encouragement, support & friendship.
And to the many other Earthlings who helped Dark Star along its way...
